Trips

Thinking of arranging a society trip? It’s important to let us know where you plan on going and the aims and objectives of your trip.

HOW MUCH NOTICE DO WE NEED TO GIVE?

  • For single day trips with no nights away, forms need to be submitted at least 48 hours before the event.

  • For Trips of 1 or more nights away, forms need to be submitted at least 5 working days before the event.

  • For Trips abroad (Outside of the UK), forms need to be submitted at least 1 calendar month before departure.

Forms submitted after these deadlines cannot be processed in time, therefore the trip/activity will not be allowed to go ahead.

WHAT ACTIVITIES NEED TO BE REGISTERED?

  • Any activity that is being conducted under the name of the Brighton Students’ Union.

  • Any activity publicised at Society meetings.

  • Any activity publicised on Society websites, journals, leaflets, notice boards.

  • Any activity funded in anyway by the Brighton Students’ Union or the Society.

  • Any activity requiring the use of equipment owned by Brighton Students’ Union or the Society.

  • Any activity requiring the use of transport or facilities booked through the Brighton Students’ Union or Society.

All societies that are arranging a trip must complete an Activity/ Trip Registration Form except where the Society is carrying out its regular activities at the normal location/facility within the owns/city of the University Campuses.

The information will be stored securely and only used in case of an emergency. Failure to complete & submit this form will mean that Brighton Students’ Union cannot sanction your activity and may result in disciplinary action being taken.
